WE DO WONDERFUL WORK - BUT WELCOME HELP!
Our committee is a mix of new and experienced librarians/information officers, organising about five training sessions and visits a year. Two people usually work on these - one lead, one support, or the two in partnership. So if you've never done this sort of thing before, there is someone with you to guide you until you develop your own confidence. Each of us works on only one or two events a year unless we choose to do more.
We have about five 2-hour meetings a year in central Birmingham to discuss events in progress and new things we might do - and new members often bring new ideas (which is why you're so welcome!).
So what's in it for you?
• The chance to develop new abilities that may help your career.
• Automatic access to all or most of our events for free (plus the networking!).
• A free Christmas meal!
• And being a committee member of one of the profession's organisations does your CV no harm at all.
If you're interested and you or your employer are Aslib members, contact us at the address in the panel below.
