WHAT WE ARE, WHAT WE DO
Large, small, modern, traditional, leading edge, business, operating solo or as an information specialist - whatever your working environment, Aslib Midlands aims to provide relevant presentations, visits and training opportunities for anyone working in the library, information skills, and information technology fields.
Each year we run several half-day or full day sessions to widen professional or related knowledge to help you do your jobs better. And while we aim at Aslib personal and institutional members, non-members are also welcome. Some events we charge for, of course, but others are free. Aslib members get a discounted price, and where there are limited places available for an event, they get priority (but we nearly always fit everyone in!). Sessions have included:
• Visits: Coventry University Library; Morton-in-Marsh fire station; Matthew Boulton College
• Talks: Knowledge management; Market research on the web; Advancing your career
• Training: Advanced internet skills; Dealing with contracts; E-Learning training course; Using Weblogs
